Healthfuse was built as an answer to the questions we faced working in the healthcare industry, either on the hospital side, the vendor side or both. We’ve seen hospitals’ cost to collect steadily grow year after year. Hospital margins have shrunk to razor-thin levels while vendors continue setting records for growth in revenue.

There is a profound lack of transparency and accountability for vendors to hospitals. This has created an adversarial relationship between many hospitals and their vendors, and ultimately hurts not only hospital revenue, but the ability to provide the best possible patient care, as well.

Whatever the root cause, Healthfuse is designed to shed light on vendor performance through detailed analytics. We bridge the gap between hospitals and their vendors, creating healthy vested partnerships.

When you work with Healthfuse, you will get to know our leadership team personally. Our president makes on-site visits to each client every 6-12 months to ensure quality control standards are in place. Our vice president leads vendor negotiations and strategy development for our partner hospitals, making on-site visits every 4-6 months.

Your sourcing advisor will be your primary point of contact with Healthfuse and act as a liaison between your hospital and our executive staff. The sourcing advisor’s role is to execute sourcing strategy and resolve vendor issues. Sourcing advisors personally visit each of their clients every 4-6 weeks, as needed.

Nicholas J. Fricano

President & Co-Founder

Prior to forming Healthfuse, Nick Fricano spent most of his career with Zimmerman Ventures’ healthcare consulting practice, where he served nearly 200 hospitals and health systems across the United States, including New York Presbyterian, the Universities of Columbia and Cornell, Yale-New Haven Health System, and various other community hospitals and integrated delivery networks.

Nick’s focus through most of his tenure with Zimmerman was on revenue cycle strategic planning, assessments, management training, and process improvement efforts. It was through this work that he recognized the opportunity to both prioritize and strengthen hospitals’ relationships with their vendors to drive meaningful and incremental value.

As president of Healthfuse, Nick is focused on sustainability, scalability, and growth for Healthfuse as well as our partner hospitals. He recognizes that industry and regulatory changes require continuous innovation to deliver relevant solutions and drive real, quantifiable value for the health care providers Healthfuse serves.

Through these efforts, Healthfuse has earned recognition as a Future 50 growth company in Wisconsin.  Nick is also a sought-after speaker on the topic of vendor management and co-vested partnerships. 

Jonathan W. Myhre

Vice President – Operations

Jon Myhre is a founding member of the Healthfuse team, overseeing both Healthfuse operations and client services. Jon’s expertise, both internally and for clients, is defining, implementing, and managing strategies to reduce cost, increase operational efficiencies, and drive net income gains.

Prior to joining Healthfuse, Jon most recently served Healthcare Learning Services, engaging with hospitals and health systems nationwide to improve revenue cycle processes, and drive change management and organizational development.

In addition to his healthcare experience, Jon has served as Policy Advisor to the current Governor of Wisconsin; Deputy Director of Communications for a multi-billion dollar governmental organization; and has provided public relations and research support along with message strategies, on local, statewide and national political campaigns.

Jon graduated at the top of his MBA class at Indiana Wesleyan University, with a focus in health care management. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a bachelor’s degree in political science.

Maureen O’Leary

Chief Financial Officer & Outside Counsel

Maureen L. O’Leary is a partner at Willms, S.C. She has worked with Healthfuse since 2011, providing legal counsel and support to the Healthfuse team and assisting with strategic planning. Maureen has extensive experience representing growing businesses, including numerous businesses providing services to hospitals and healthcare providers.

Maureen received her Juris Doctor degree with honors from Marquette University. She completed her undergraduate at Carroll College, majoring in political science with minors in business and music.
